Who can think of Ghislain without seeing his big brown eyes edged by long black lashes ? Eyes that hide an extraordinary story...

The basketball palyer Little dynamic man full of life, I met him at the basketball games where he came to cheer for us. Right away, the team adopted him (maybe a bit too much according to our coach (Ghislain's dad, Michel)). The girls would concentrate more on Ghislain sitting on their lap than on the game. He become our mascot, our lucky charm.

Adventurous, and without fear, he always used to challenge me to a game of 21, even though he knew that he couldn't score any points (he was too young and not yet strong enough to reach the basket with the ball) but that didn't matter to him... Of course, with his tenacity, it wasn't long before he really played basket. Being a fast player, devoted and always wishing to improve, he often came to ask me how well he played. "Well Ghislain, I wasn't really looking.." -"How come you didn't see me ? You're supposed to be the referee and to watch the game !" He would then tell me about all the good shots he had done. "You're right Ghislain, you played well..".

Later on, having become a courageous and determined young man, Ghislain entered the Garneau high school (sept 95). At the dancethon for cancer, he said in his speech: "I am proud to be a "gaulois" ". Well, Ghislain, I want to tell you "I'm proud of you...". Always with a smile, he fought against his destiny. I ask myself who is Ghislain ? He is a braveheart, valiant and possessing an incredible interior force that surprises me still...

Ghislain on a motorcyle!?! At this moment, I can imagine Ghislain Cayouette, who from up above, probably sitting on a motorcycle, is encouraging me to life my life fully, as he did so well; today he lives on, peacefully and without regrets.

Who can think of Ghislain without seeing his big brown eyes edged by long black lashes ? Eyes that hide an extraordinary story...
